Don't you love the modern Jesus,
He will accept you just as you are,
Better than that one in the Bible,
Oh, He is more loving, yes by far.

Even though you may live in sin,
Modern Jesus seems to be okay,
No, He won't judge you harshly,
In fact, He will look the other way.

This modern Jesus really gets it,
Unlike that old one from long ago,
He sees the times have changed,
And all those old rules have to go.

It really makes me so very happy,
That I can live and do as I please,
And my Jesus will understand it,
I can simply live my faith with ease.

Beware if this is the kind of Jesus,
In whom you've foolishly believed,
If you think God accepts your sins,
Well, you have truly been deceived.

You see the real Jesus of the Bible,
Is the same yesterday today forever,
Though you've invented a new one,
My friend you're really not so clever.

God's Word warns us very clearly,
For another Jesus to watch out,
Yet sadly in these modern times,
That's what our faith is all about.

Instead of living by God's standard,
Some have twisted things around,
In so many of our church pulpits,
They teach doctrines so unsound.

Yes, they put darkness for light,
And the bitter they put for sweet,
But unless they will soon repent,
Someday they will feel God's heat.

So away with your modern Jesus,
He is Satan's usurper in disguise,
Return to the Jesus of the Bible,
And forsake all those devilish lies.
