Have you stopped to consider, Your beliefs may be out of joint? God's Word is not merely a book, Where we each pick and choose, Some verses we can't throw out, While others we decide to use. We can't force an interpretation, Just let the Bible explain itself, If we want it to say what we wish, Then leave that tome on the shelf. But if we desire to know the truth, Comparing verses we really need, God will begin opening our eyes, As we continue to faithfully read. We should keep a receptive mind, As the Spirit speaks to our heart, He will link this verse to that one, We will be off to a very good start. When we use this correct method, Everything falls into proper place, Without us twisting and tweaking, We are on a solid scriptural base. #Poetry #Poem https://www.billkochman.com/Poetry STUDY GOD'S WORD! by Bill Kochman 03-09-2024 If you do not want to be deceived, You must diligently study the Word, No, don't ever just naively accept, The Internet things you have heard. There are so many false doctrines, They've sprung up like evil seeds, But know that God will keep safe, Him who the Bible faithfully reads. The Scriptures are like medication, To protect you from what is false, Your immunity will then be strong, And have a healthy spiritual pulse. But woe to him who neglects them, Discernment that person will lack, Thus he'll find himself in darkness, If Satan with his lies should attack. Not knowing the Lord's true Word, Yes, astray he will surely be led, Misguided teachers will trap him, Erroneous thots will fill his head. So please don't dare be like him, Take time to study the holy writ, Be led by God's amazing Spirit, All your life just don't ever quit.

#Poetry #Poem CHERRY PICKER by Bill Kochman 10-27-2024 She was a Bible cherry picker, Choosing verses that she liked, While as for quite a few others, She told them to go take a hike. Like so many modern Believers, She was one to pick & choose, It is such a dangerous practice, God's Word we shouldn't abuse. And yet a lot of Christians today, Foolishly behave just the same, As if the Bible is some cafeteria, Or a free-for-all Scrabble game. If a verse supports their beliefs, Well then that verse is still okay, But if a verse contradicts them, It is simply time to take it away. And thus they force God's Word, To conform to their own thought, Beware of the people who do it, Do not be deceived by their rot. Embrace your Bible completely, Refrain from any verse cleaning, Compare one verse to another, To arrive at the proper meaning. If you follow my advice closely, The Lord will be pleased indeed, And as for your understanding, It will increase with all you read.

#Poetry #Poem TWIST AND TWEAK by Bill Kochman 01-30-2025 There's a very troubling trend, They call it “twist and tweak”, I hear of a brand new doctrine, Just about every single week. Babes wanting to be teachers, Oh how they make me freak, They say the craziest things, Every time they start to speak. Gosh, I really have to wonder, Is that really even in the Bible? They should watch their words, For God will hold them all liable. Seriously, it would be frightful, To walk in some of their shoes, I urge them to be more careful, With every word they choose. Make sure that what you teach, Is according to God's holy Word, Verify it first with the Scriptures, So that you don't sound absurd. For if you say something wrong, And lead His dear sheep astray, Some day you'll be accountable, For those foolish things you say.

So your idea will pass God’s test, Then it is okay to take your rest. In the Bible you should immerse, Comparing each verse with verse. Do not twist Scriptures in reverse, For that would be the very worse. Just allow the Bible itself explain, There is no need to end up insane. No, don't force it, yourself refrain, God’s Holy Spirit will make it plain. When it happens you will get relief, Knowing you’ve got a solid belief. Don't resist truth through misbelief, For doing so will just bring you grief. Follow this method to not go wrong, Thus you will be a Christian strong. Tho your life’s course may be long, In the end you'll sing victor's song.
