Then they will suddenly know, How wrong they have been, When they stand before God, Who then examines their sin. Yes, our every word and deed, Will receive a specific weight, What things were done in love, Which ones were done in hate. Once our entire life is laid bare, An attorney comes to the floor, But, alas, you will not have one, For Jesus you chose to ignore. Sadly, you’ll stand there alone, As you try to plead your case, Telling God how good you are, Who looks intently in your face. We can choose to live so selfishly, Ignoring those who may have it rough, Or we can relieve their suffering, Haven't they already endured enough? When everything else is swept aside, It really comes down to just one thing, God will judge us by how much we love, And by how much joy to others we bring. But by ourselves this is hard to do, Because our heart is so evil within, We need to be born of God's Spirit, When we ask the Lord Jesus to come in. He will give us love and compassion, Such as we have never known before, So if you need a change in your life, It is time for you to open the door.
