#Poetry #Poem https://www.billkochman.com/Poetry LET'S PLAY GOVERNMENT by Bill Kochman 08-28-2024 Okay, let's all play at government, It is really going to be lots of fun, Make a bill, hold our committees, They will think we get things done. Yet if we look much more closely, The situation is not what it seems, Yes, those pols look rather busy, Certain bills are reams and reams. But ... because of partisan politics, Making bills can be quite a chore, So while they appear hard at work, Many will end up dead on the floor. All that wasted time, energy, money, But, alas, nothing really came of it, Thus if they cannot get things done, Maybe they should pack up and quit. Then there are special committees, They try to bring people to account, But after exchanging so many words, Quite often to nothing it will amount. Yes, after putting on a political show, The questioned just walks away free, So why even bother to make a case, The circus are you beginning to see? Performers are found i...

#Poetry #Poem POLI TICKS by Bill Kochman 01-17-2023 Oh those poli ticks, poli ticks, Getting underneath our skin, Always sucking on our lives, Why is it we can never win? Our lives are already so hard, But they do not have a clue, Passing bills to tax us more, What are we supposed to do? Living in expensive mansions, Kids going to the best schools, Health insurance is the finest, Are we merely just their tools? They rake in so many millions, But we barely make ends meet, They wear the latest fashions, We have sandals on our feet. They are supposed to serve us, But they’ve forgotten their task, They shake hands, kiss babies, Yes they wear the perfect mask. They are all career politicians, Serving themselves is their life, It just does not seem to matter, Their laws cut us like a knife.

#Poetry #Poem POLLS AND HOLES by Bill Kochman 08-09-2024 Don’t believe all of the news, Don’t believe all of the polls, Forget about the politicians, Their stories are full of holes. First they will say one thing, And then they will say that, They are just like a magician, Pulling a rabbit out of a hat. Now concerning actual truth, It’s whatever they wanna say, But it can get darn confusing, Because it changes everyday. And so their battle rages on, As they work to control minds, Hiding the real facts from us, They want us wearing blinds. Saying anything to get a vote, Tho promises are rarely kept, For once they get into office, Under the carpet it's all swept. Thus they all play their game, Whether pollster or some pol, A battle of deceptive words, To win your body mind & soul.

DEBATE MODERATORS -- a poem and song by BBB #Poetry #Poem DEBATE MODERATORS by Bill Kochman https://www.billkochman.com/Poetry 10-03-2024 Well look at those debate moderators, They’re so biased and just full of crap, They broke rules and fact checked JD, But they were caught in their own trap. Whether it was JD or President Trump, Moderator tactics have been the same, Maintaining a tight lid on Republicans, They play such a discriminatory game. They obviously all lean towards the left, So Republicans do not get a fair shake, But when those two ladies took on JD, Oh boy, they made one terrible mistake! That boy was not about to just let it go, And so he put them solidly in their place, Having no recourse they turned off mics, Which left those moderators in disgrace. Post debate banter was indeed so fierce, As those two hypocrites came under fire, All the social networks were quite abuzz, As folks directed to those mods their ire. So the truth was once again confirmed, That those TV netw...
