They said that the vaccines do work, Just don't forget to wear your mask, They said our railways are all fine, So about derailments, no, don't ask. They said no lab ever made COVID, But now their story has all changed, It really leaves a person confused, When all their facts are rearranged. They said Social Security is solvent, And Medicare? No need for any fears, Yet suddenly they demand cutbacks, And to increase our retirement years. They said the water is safe to drink, Even though some pipes are still lead, But when I take a good look around, I question how many folks are dead. They said our borders are secure, Do not worry about the cartel thugs, We’ve got everything under control, Except for all those deadly drugs. There is a great war of words, Constantly bombarding your ear, So if you want a word of advice, Be careful with what you hear. It arrives from every direction, TV, radio, online and the press, Shaping your view without end, It's like a mental game of chess. The players try to convince you, There is truth in what they say, They all want you in their corner, Believing there is no other way. So you need to be very judicious, Don't just accept what they claim, Follow due diligence and examine, Don't just be a pawn in their game.
