Vulnerabilities of an All-Digital World

The inherent dangers of an all-digital world have once again become all too apparent as evidenced by the events which have transpired over the past day. While we can certainly appreciate the many conveniences we derive from modern technology, the loss of paper receipts, manual cash registers, manual accounting books, physical money, etc., makes us all extremely vulnerable. In the event of war with an astute enemy, undersea cables, Internet connectivity, global communications and shipping will be some of the first areas to be targeted and affected. As a direct military target of communist China and North Korea, we here on the island of Guam in the Mariana Islands take these threats very seriously. Undersea cables and shipping are vital to our very existence.
